Chinese New Year Manchester – China Town

Celebrate Chinese New Year in Manchester’s China Town in 2016.

From Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 February 2016, we celebrate the ‘Year of the Monkey’ in Manchester. Event activities include:

  • Thousands of red lanterns decorating the city’s shopping streets with a modern visual brand and ‘Monkey’ icon (created by Stanley Chow)

  • A stunning New Year ‘light show’ which will be projected onto St Ann’s Church

  • Martial arts and dragon dancing in the streets
  • Family craft events at Manchester Arndale and Manchester Art Gallery
  • Promotions and special events across city centre shops
  • The famous Dragon Parade, entertainment, stalls and fireworks in Albert Square and Chinatown
