There’s information available on key Manchester-based websites to keep up to speed with Manchester’s Chinese New Year celebrations and festivities.

There’s all sorts of activity planned from lighting lanterns, to food, to music – and more!

The Dragon Parade is one of the key centrepieces of the festival on Sunday 22nd February. The plan is for a 175-foot paper dragon, a lion dance, various martial arts demonstrations, some art workshops, a fairground and a firework show! Find out more here.

Manchester Council are helping to stretch the festivities from Chinatown to St Anne’s Square for extra areas of activities.  Check out more, here.

Keep an eye out for new developments and additions as we get closer.  Manchester Council’s Chinese New Year Event page will bring all the CNY news together.

Check out Lydia Meiying’s Chinese New Year show if you are interested in the work from the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art.
